I have Office 2007 and for some reason I do not see the "Open a shared calendar" in the navigation pane and I need to have this option for may daily work.
While some outlook 2007 had this option :
To solve this issue i found this way :
File – Open – Other User’s Folder
And this window will pop up (fill the name value) like this below image :
And you will see the shared calendar like this :
